Amazing mountain biking is possible on trails such as the Scout Trail over the Glenwood Canyon and the Ridge Trail above Snowmass Village. There are many public and private courses in the Roaring Fork Valley that were designed by well-known architects like Jay Morrish, Jay Nicklaus and Jim Engh.
The World’s largest hot springs in Glenwood and the Yampa Spa are great for relaxation. We can enjoy the evening sunsets from our deck, with no screens and no humidity. There are over 300 days of sunlight per year. The words “mostly cloudy”, “overcast” and “mostly cloudy” are almost unheard of.
There are many cultural opportunities that bring in world leaders, such as presidents and Nobel laureates from the Aspen Institute or leading classical musicians at Aspen Music Festival. Top athletes compete at USA Pro Cycling Challenge, World Cup skiing races, and the Winter X Games in Buttermilk. Or world-renowned musicians perform at venues like Jazz Aspen Snowmass, PAC3 Carbondale, and Belly Up.
You are closer to everyday shops than in other mountain communities. Not surprisingly, our nationally-ranked hospital (Valley View) in Glenwood Springs attracts some of the best physicians in the nation. There are many educational opportunities at Colorado Mountain College’s numerous campuses throughout the valley. The classes offer Associate and Bachelor degree options.
